Shopping Fun Despite the High Cost of Living

Everyone knows that with the high cost of living these days, it pays to, “shop smart.”

I can’t imagine a single person on the planet who doesn’t just love shopping.  I truly believe that I could shop every day for the rest of my life, and shopping for just about everything is the name of my game.  With the advent of the internet, shopping is even more fun because now I don’t have to fistfight every bozo in the mall for the things I want to buy at great prices.  Holidays and birthdays are even better now, with everything I could ever want right at my fingertips.  Give it a try yourself, and see if you don’t get bitten by the love of all things shopping!

Kitchen and Cooking

- Kitchen and cooking products and gadgets are a blast to shop for, as when I am not hunting for my next great buy I am putting around my kitchen enjoying my great love of food and the culinary world.  There are simply too many good things out there to resist, and shopping is easier for my friends and family come Christmas and my birthdays, because they know there is always something super cool and easy to find out there that will tickle me pink!

Kitchen cookware is best when it is copper, and yes I know it is pricey.  I can’t help it, when I get on eBay and the bids start flying, I go crazy for a copper pot.  Copper just heats so evenly and quickly, it is perfect for just about everything I use it for and properly cared for it lasts forever and a day.  There are many good places online to buy these kinds of pots and pans, and just poking around all the great sites is seriously half the fun.

Dining, dishes and glassware, and everything that goes with it is just my cup of tea, literally.  You may have gathered that I enjoy entertaining, and my tableware is a case of personal pride for me.  Mikasa is all there is to this game, and there is no limit to the amazing patterns for both dishes and fine stemware.  These are really nice because unlike many types of fine china, Mikasa products are washing machine and microwave friendly.  The stemware is heavy, and my guests always say they love how it feels in their hands.

Silverware is an interesting thing to shop for, and finding just the perfect set to go with your dishes and tableware can take time.  Personally, I dig the Lennox flatware, I had a set left to me by my grandmother and have just loved it ever since.  Of course that didn’t stop me from going out and shopping for another set to match, after all, it doesn’t do to have less than adequate silverware for your guests if you are serving for as many people as I tend to at a time.

Cutlery and knives are super important in the kitchen, and you are really more likely to cut yourself up with an old dull knife than a nice new one that doesn’t have to be muscled around.  Treat yourself, after all, you do the cooking for the family, you deserve good tools to work with, and shopping for great knives is always a gas, I just love the demos you get to see on the internet, you would be blown away by what a set of new knives can do!

Small kitchen appliances these are slightly less fun to shop for as far as I am concerned, they are toasters and things that do my little jobs for me.  My exception to this is Kitchen Aid things, and man, you can never get enough of those things.  If your wife likes to cook, or even if you are impressed that she consents to feed you every night, buy her one of these, and go nuts with the tons of attachments available.   Shopping for Kitchen Aid attachments is something I could do forever I swear.

Grills and grilling supplies are great father’s day gifts, and nothing is cooler than sneaking the kids into your office, and ordering something for dad on the sly that is a big secret, just between you guys.  It is delivered to your door and how surprised dad will be when it is there in his garage with a big red bow, just ready to serve him for many years of family picnics and memories.  Trust me when I say, shopping doesn’t get cooler than this.

Home Furniture Pieces

-Goodness knows, furniture is one area where the elevated cost of living can impact us. Again, shop smart and for great value. Furniture is something that will either enhance your comfort or make you feel so out of place in your own home that you want to move.  It amazes me how many men love furniture shopping, my husband just goes crazy like a little kid in an Ethan Allen store, and he has the credit line to prove it.  Furniture is something that ties a home together and in many cases will get passed onto your kids, so shop wisely.

Trendy furniture is fun to shop for, no one worries if one of the little ones leaves a milk ring in the wood, and shopping for this kind of furniture is fairly easy, with many companies providing a wide array of affordable products to make you and your home feel very cutting edge.  Offices in particular are big fun to furnish and there are so many cool pieces of furniture and wild office chairs that you can shop for hours online.

Accent pieces are some of those little things that just make a house more homely.  I favor art shopping, and the many different artists out there flavor the whole world with their particular brand of seasoning, whichever flavor you should prefer.  Specialty lighting and picture frames are inexpensive and great gift ideas as well, shopping for these never gets old and who has too many pictures in a home or office?

Baby and little kid furniture just screams shop for me, and baby showers or birthdays call my shopping gene into action like few other occasions do.  Baby furniture is a special kind of thing to shop for, and shopping with your spouse may be easier to do if you go online, plus if you are approaching your due date it might just be nicer for you to not have to travel all about town.  Most online shopping is very safe and convenient; your things will arrive quickly and in great shape so shop fearlessly.

Bedroom sets are also very special things to shop for, and in many cases this is a special step you and your partner take together as man and wife, building a home together.  The wife can pick out all the rest of the furniture, but in many cases a man has something to say about what he sleeps on every night, so don’t just run out and grab a credit card for this purchase, words no one ever thought they would hear from me I am sure.

Dining room furniture is great to shop for so long as you have your drapes already, otherwise finding chair seat upholstery could be a bit of a shopping challenge.  Shop long and hard for this one, it’s too fun to give up the chase easily anyway, and a dining room set is going to last you for most of your life so you had darn well better like it.  With that in mind, shop till you drop and may the best set win.

Dormitory furniture is a blast to shop for, because it means one of your children are leaving the nest at last for college.  What an exciting thing to shop for with your adult children as they get a running start on their brand new lives, and you should feel like a very special parent while you are shopping for things like this for or with your kids.  As a gift or just because, your kids will think it is a special rite of passage as well.

Shelves and bookcases are just plain a necessity, and yeah, you can have them built into the wall but then the fun of shopping doesn’t come into play, and I am just not okay with that at all.  Make sure that they hold a decent amount of weight and don’t just look pretty or you will be mad you bought them later.  But then again, you would get to go bookcase shopping again so maybe there is a silver lining…

Home Accents and Accessories

-Home shopping is something you have to do whether you love it or not, but fortunately for me I do love shopping, especially online so when I get the itch to buys something nice for my home I just pop into the office really quick where the entire world is at my very fingertips.  It always amazes me how almost anything can be delivered right to my door, from my precious soup tureen to my twelve foot long dining table, the nice men bring it in and I am free to shop again.

Lighting and lamps are great buys to shop for, as they really make or break how cozy your home can be.  I just love shed antler lighting, it has a warm and rustic appeal with none of the rabid animal rights activists throwing red paint at my door.  They are all natural, and the deer just drop them every winter so they aren’t using them anyway.  They look really beautiful in my huge vaulted ceilings and always give my guests something to talk about.

Window covering, drapery, drapes, and shudders might not seem like loads of fun to shop for but really make a difference in the privacy of the home.  I have a set of drapes for each of the four seasons, and change each throughout the house as the year progresses.  Shopping for these is great, every year there are so many different elegant and soft fabrics to choose from.  Just remember that the theme must be consistent with your furniture year round, so find ways to compliment them as the year goes on.

Luggage is only fun to shop for because it means you are going on vacation!  That said, it is more fun online because you get more options than just basic black, and I for example love my little dog luggage.  Having unique and well shopped luggage makes it just so much easier to look for at the airport anyway, plus I love the nagging of my husband as I stand their slyly with mine and he curses everything in sight especially all the bags that are perfect replicas of his.  It pays to shop dear…

Clocks and shopping for them only interest me if I am shopping online in antique websites.  I must admit to being a sucker for the gentle gong of an old mantle clock, and the marble ones are my favorite by a mile.  I tell you, once you have lived with one in your home you will never sleep without one again, so make sure you love the sound of the one you are shopping for and go get your bargain.

Slipcovers are fun to shop for, especially online, because there are just so darn many options out there for a shopaholic to enjoy.  I like all of mine to be different and I love having seasonal ones means you have new couches and chairs on demand.  Looking to impress that picky mother in law, match them up nicely with those drapes and we are talking business baby.

Storage tubs, baskets, bins, an organizing paraphernalia is a must have for an obsessive compulsive disorder shopping queen like me, after all, how to you organize all that fun stuff you buy without tubs and bins?  I love that they make red and green ones for Christmas things, and orange and black ones for Halloween stuff.  Kid’s items can be organized this way as well, blue for Bobbie and red for Lisa, or something similar.  Have a truck load delivered to your door and get to work.

Rugs, area rugs, throw rugs, doormats, and the like are fun to shop for, and I especially love all the fun doormats you can get online for novelty purposes.  Ones like, you are being watched by the dog, and mats like that.  After all, my guests should have fair warning that I am nuts before they get through the door, right?

Vacuum cleaners are just so easy to get online, whatever kind you need, and often you can get a special discount for ordering that way which is always a bonus when you are talking a purchase of several hundred dollars.  The product demonstration videos are a gas to watch too, stuff you would never in a million years do with your vacuum they subject the poor object you are about to buy too.

Cleaning supplies are just super easy to order online as well, in fact, you can get whole cleaning kits that way, which is just one less thing to have to think about.  Shopping for chemicals just isn’t nearly as much fun as some of the other stuff you could be shopping for, so get this one out of the way fast and quick and move onto something fun!

The accents and accessories and “must have” items your purchase are what makes your home livable and enjoyable, to my mind.

Bedding and Bath

Home bedding and bathroom items might be considered frivolous by some folks, but to me they are a necessity. Talk about a meaningful small pleasure in the face of the high living cost today!

Bedding, sheets, linen, bedspreads, pillows, and bath accessories, well now that is certainly what I enjoy shopping for! They can really enhance a room.

Getting my down pillows online gives me an opportunity to also shop for the similar things I need at the same time, which gives me gumption to get more than one set of sheets or comforter at a time. That makes the whole experience just that much nicer for me.

Bath accessories, shower curtains, towels, and the like can all be purchased at once and in matching lots with my favorite method of shopping.  Great deals on these items can be found on the internet, and I reason that higher quality items for the bathroom can be found this way so this is just about the only way to go in my book.

It is easy to see why so many people adore bedding and bath accessories.

For Your Pets

- Pet Gear is a great way for me to waste an hour of my day easy, I just love spoiling my pets and shopping for things that make them feel special is always something I take a great deal of enjoyment in.  I am sure your pets are no different, and when my dog has a new collar arrive in the mail, she will actually dance and beg for me to put it on her.  Sounds like a win win situation to me.

Pet products are an essential today.

Special items for dogs, leashes, collars, and toys are all a big hit with the canines in my kennel.  Each of these items means something special to them so they naturally are excited when the UPS man shows up on my doorstep.  Not only do they get to bark their hairy little faces off at him, but he brings them fantastic things! According to the dogs, one can’t beat that deal with a stick.

Special items for cats are received less then enthusiastically, but I have a blast shopping for them nonetheless.  Sparkly collars are most often what arrives on my doorstep, but specialty food, though less fun to shop for, are also nice to just have arrive with an amazing amount of convenience, and is honestly better received by the cat.  She is not necessarily fond of my sparkly collar fetish.

Feeding bowls can be tough to find in the everyday pet store if you are looking for something special, and it is fun to shop for different ones.  Personally, I love the wide array of stainless bowls you can find online, and they hold so much less bacteria than the cheap plastic ones you get in the pet store in town.

Pet bedding is fun to shop for because you can get a bed for your critter that goes well with yours.  Not that they care, but I work hard to make my house look great and really like when things look fluid in a room.  I don’t want a hot pink dog pillow in a room where all of my things are blue, just put it that way.

Our Outdoor Life

- Sports and Outdoor items are as much fun to shop for as they are to use, and I love using them too.  I am amazingly outdoors oriented considering how much of a shopping princess I am, and everyone is always shocked to the core when I give up the computer and rough it, shopping free, for a weekend.  A few days are as far as it goes though, and then I start wanting my cookware to match my sleeping bag.

Camping gear is awesome fun to shop for, I look forward to that all year long.  Get online and start pecking around for good deals, a perfect time to do this is going into the fall, you can get some amazing gear for really reasonable just because they don’t want to house it all winter and a particular company wants to unload some of their inventory.

Sleeping bags are fun to shop for, especially with my kids.  They always have some super cartoon character for me to hunt up online and the challenge is always fun.  Forget trying to grab these at the local target, they will be seriously disappointing, as well as a complete and utter waste of gas.  They may have one or two items in the sleeping bag department, but they are virtually guaranteed to not have the special items you kids really want.

Water sports, snorkel and swim accessories, and other great vacation or lake gear is a must have if you are going somewhere to swim often this summer or actually live on a lake.  Like most people, I love buying things for the kids, and the water sport equipment they are begging for is neat to wait for as it comes in the mail.  Just don’t forget to throw in that life jacket for them as well while you are at it.

Bikes are a great deal online, and chances are you will know exactly which one the little guys are dreaming of this Christmas.  Find out which bike they must have and start hunting, the bargains galore and every possible product for any and all ages await you with just the click of the mouse.

Sports and exercise equipment, weights, yoga mats, and other things are  fun to shop for because my husband uses them.  Exercise is for people who need it, and I get all the exercise I need just hunting for deals.  My husband loves that I do all the shopping in this department for him, and I appreciate getting to fill that need for him so it works out for us.

Outdoor furniture is more my style for shopping for myself, and I really enjoy throwing garden parties on a new set of patio furniture at our home.  Afternoon tea in the rose garden has been a tradition in my family for generations, so I sort of think of all that while I am shopping for patio and outdoor furniture.  There are some really nice collections online, if you know where to look.

Garden accessories, planters, yard tools, and seeds all make wonderful gifts for the gardener in your life, I especially like putting together a gift basket full of nice things for a gardener, mostly because that is many things I get to shop for.  Plus it always looks great and the recipient really thinks it is a special gift.

Survival gear falls into the outdoor shopping arena, too. These days more and more people want to be prepared for any weather event or other crisis by being self-reliant and self-sufficient in case of disaster.

Wellness, Health, and Beauty

- The department of beauty health wellness, and similar products may not seem like fun items to shop for online, but think of it this way, you won’t have to admit to anyone in town that your hair is dyed, or that you use mega anti wrinkle cream.  Bet shopping for beauty products online is starting to look pretty darn good now isn’t it?

Cosmetics are in many cases just plain cheaper to shop for online, plus you will have access to so many different brands that you may not have access to in your area.  Cosmetics to many people are a very personal and private thing anyway, so those folks may just appreciate to anonymity that the internet offers.  Give it a try if you are someone who is particularly shy or particular about the cosmetics they wear.

Bath and body, soaps, lotions, bath oils, and other various items are a blast to shop for if you, like me, enjoy having your bathroom all nice and set up.  I am extremely picky about my guest bathrooms in particular, I like them to have a theme that matches the bedrooms or at least the rest of the bathroom and have loads of fun picking through all the different scents and items.  Give it a try and see if your guests don’t notice your attention to detail.

Hair care, shampoos, conditioners, hair colorants, all of these things you just don’t live your daily life without and if like me you have people over all the time, sometimes for extended stays, sometimes many different groups or whole families, buying in bulk online can be a real blessing.  I find the process fairly enjoyable and just like having things arrive in the mail even if it is just soap.

Natural and organic items can be tricky to find if you are out of the way at all, in Seattle you can usually get a bunch of options, but that is only because Bliss Soaps is local out here.  The rest of the populous must get their products online should they wish to have a selection worth bothering with, and shopping for organic items can be very time consuming, which doesn’t bother me in the least.

Wellness health and beauty products really make a difference in our lives.

Shopping for Kids

- Shopping for baby kids toys, these are some of the greatest joys to me in the shopping world and herald a special time for moms the world over, it gives us a chance to spoil our kids.  My mother used to go broke spoiling us kids and though I don’t advocate that, you can still reasonably cushion their lives with all the things you can practically provide them, materially speaking, Me, I just love hearing them beg for things and then shopping in secret and surprising them later.

Baby furniture isn’t going to impress a baby per say, but men I guarantee if you pop up with nursery furniture for your pregnant wife she is going to be overwhelmed with joy (and hormones, so have the tissues handy).  These are things you will likely only get to shop for a handful of times in your life so relish the chance and consider shopping from the comfort of home, and having your purchase arrive magically on your doorstep.

Baby bedding, crib and toddler bedding, blankets, and the like are always a hoot because young kids and their ever changing view of what “cool” means always keeps you on your toes.  My nephews are a prime example of this, and shopping with them and watching them argue over who wants what is one of the joys to my life.

Car safety seats, booster seats, and other safety equipment for kids isn’t really a joy in shopping, it is more of a mission to keep them safe and in one piece.  Parents of a toddler know that this job is tough enough with the seemingly self destructive behavior of these young children, and they need no help getting hurt so shopping for these items may not be a ball, but is highly necessary nonetheless.

Baby clothes are so much fun to shop for, I just love finding out a friend is going to have a baby so I can shop for little clothes for the baby.  Finding out if the baby is going to be a boy or girl helps, but things are not so pink and blue as they used to be back in the older days.  Shopping for these little guys is a rare treat to any shopaholic and we do tend to go a little nuts when we hear the news.

Clothes for boys, shirts, jeans, jackets, and other things going to take an amazing amount of wear, so shop accordingly and stay out of the massive chains, these clothes tend to come apart in the first few washes.  Many great companies offer their clothing for boys online, they guarantee the fit and the workmanship and you will get way better deals shopping this way.

Clothes for girls, dresses, shoes, purses, and little fun things they have to have is going to also be a great buy online.  Unlike many of the cheap things offered in the same lame colors in stores, you can get online and find all sorts of things your little girl is just sure to love to pieces, and that makes any mom’s shopping pleasure.

Toys, dolls, action figures, games, educational, outdoor items, and the like can really bring joy to even the worst day and surprising a child with a treat like that is really a special kind of thing for a parent or aunt.  There are some great toy reviews to read online and they will put you on the right track to the things the kids just love to have. It’s so much fun to go shopping for things kids need.

Teens and Tweens

-Teens and Tweens (preteen) children are really tough, consider yourself a shopping pro to tackle this job.  Shopping for this age group is a nightmare sometimes because they are a walking ball of nerves, young boys assert that they don’t need mom to pick them out anything, and teen and pre teen girls will burst into hysterical tears about a perceived (or mis-perceived) body image that is highly unrealistic.  The reward of shopping for this age is that every once in a great while (don’t hold your breath that is) they truly appreciate something you shopped long and hard for, and that is really its own reward.

Purses for young ladies make one of the safer things to gift to them, and I must confess I do enjoy shopping for these.  Many great designers can be found online and you can usually find exactly what they love with ease.  No purse is going to make a young lady feel “fat” or “ugly” so you should really enjoy shopping for these items comforted by that fact.  Just try not to break your bank on one of these, some of those Juicy and other labels can really blow your mind price-wise.

Backpacks are in my opinion not a real gift item for teens, and I enjoy shopping for them really just because I love poking around online for such items.  Shop with your teens while buying them backpacks, and so long as they are allowed by the school and are not in some way obscene or vulgar I would let them have whatever they wanted.  Not the most fun to shop for again, but you will get the job done faster and cheaper by shopping the internet.

Costume jewelry is ever popular for young ladies to wear places like prom and homecoming, and some of the jewelry you can find online is really quite beautiful.  If your daughter has a dress picked out for such an event, see if you can match it with a surprise she is sure to treasure forever.  I love shopping for events like this, it is what family memories are made of, and after you pick out a special something for her, present it to her in some memorable way.  It will stick with her for the rest of her life.

Fashion trends are really tough to keep up with for teens, and only the true pros will really love shopping in this department.   It is fun so long as you are not shopping outside your element, so stick with the things you know and have a good time getting something special for your teen.  If shoes are what you know, go that direction, and if you are good with what kinds of jeans they wear, bravely venture forth.  Don’t try to fish in dangerous waters though, or you will end up taking an unwelcome gift back.

Ladies Attire

- Ladies clothing is as varied and ever changing as the tide, and amen to that.  I think almost every woman in America loves clothes shopping, no matter which type you are shopping for, and I go crazy in this department.  Just remember the cardinal rule to shopping for clothes, you don’t get to buy more if you have unused new items in your closet so shop online, shop often, and shop wisely.

Clothing for women is pretty easy to find online, and what you want is going to determine where you are looking so peruse some of your favorite stores and bookmark them so you can see what they have in stock as the seasons change.  What appeals to you in fall may not necessarily do so next spring.  Personal preference is going to play a huge role in what you are buying online, and you should have a blast while you do it.

Full figured, plus size, and even petite clothing is going to be easier to find online, and you will enjoy a wider selection and more reasonable prices on the clothing you are looking for.  Plus if for some reason the clothing doesn’t fit properly you can send them back with no hassle in most cases which is one of the things that makes shopping online for tricky clothing a really nice option that didn’t used to be there.

Maternity clothing doesn’t usually come with much variety if you are department store shopping, and hunting for this type of thing is just so much nicer when you go online.  Very few stores actually cater to the maternity crowd so having the ability to just shoot online and grab what you need really quick as those needs change during the term of your pregnancy.  Many women are also shy about how their body is reacting to the change pregnancy brings, so again this is one of the more enjoyable perks to shopping online.

Swimwear is not necessarily something any woman wants to parade in front of a store full of men, women, and children.  For those of us who love shopping but don’t love displaying our flesh to the entire world, buying online is a natural answer to those of us with issue like that.  Even those of us at size two don’t like it, so grab your laptop and start picking out swim wear.

Mens Fashion

- Men enjoy the luxury of either not giving a rip about what they wear or how they look in it, or they have the luxury of having their blessed wives shop for them.  My husband falls into the latter category because let’s face it, shopping is a blast and getting to go online and buy him things just makes my whole week.  He won’t deny me the opportunity to be tickled to death, and he gets to not look like a five year old dressed him, a bonus on both ends if you ask him.

Casual clothes for men are super easy to find for men, and buying designer casual online means he not only looks great, but at a great value, and he can still buy a latte in the morning as he goes about is business.  Mens casual is one of the most fun things to shop, because I don’t have to ask him a thing, I just grab him something great and he wears it, case closed.

Slacks and jeans are made in standard sizes so as long as you know what your hubby is wearing size wise you can buy him anything he needs.  Convenient and fun all in one, there are tons of companies online that not only guarantee fit but satisfaction, so if he gets them home and tries them on and hates the fabric, they will take them back no questions asked.

Wallets come in so many shapes and sizes online, that picking one out for your man as a surprise is a fun thing you get to do about once a year.  Personally, I always look forward to wallet time shopping wise and the man always appreciates that his stuff isn’t just falling out of the old one.  Wallet shopping isn’t a glamorous job, but think of it like purse shopping for a man, and that always makes it loads of fun to me.

Underwear, winter underwear, and long underwear is something you can get online and not have to fuss to much with wondering why they don’t have the right size in the department store, which is what always ends up happening to me.  I insist that the men in my house throw out any britches with holes in them, it is just an unbreakable rule in my house, and that said, shopping for all the underwear in our house makes sense knowing that.

Hunting clothes are a great thing to buy for a man’s birthday or Christmas gift.  I know a great many men who just love to get this sort of thing as a present and are just delighted at a wool shirt, or a Filson’s vest.  Many of these items can be tough to buy in town so if you have a specific need go online to find it, you can find anything there.

Team tribute clothing is so expensive should you buy it at the mall, it almost takes the fun out of shopping, note the word “almost”.  That said, if your man is a Saints fan, and you live in Seattle, you are just plain unlikely to find more than the token one or two items that the area shop is likely to carry.  They may or may not have his size too, so take that into account while on your hunt for his favorite team mens apparel.

Automotive and Tools

- Tools and car products are super fun to shop for, especially if you are a car enthusiast, or are in love with a car enthusiast.  Even we gals can really get into finding special stuff for our guys, or even for us.  I for one get all excited when I get something new for my sports car, and if it comes as a surprise in the mail even more the better, so shop with passion ladies, even in the car and tools department!

Automotive maintenance manuals and other books pertaining to car repair is a fun thing to go poking for if you have a penchant for fixing things in the mechanical world.  I have a manual for each of my cars and it is nice to at least have an idea of how it works should something go sideways.  I enjoy also shopping for things that make my husband’s life easier, tools and stuff that he will use all the time in his day to day life.  This keeps him feeling beloved and thinking of me when he uses them which is important to both of us.

Car mats come in so many novelty images that I love shopping for them and getting to buy a new set for my car.  These are important for keeping the carpet clean in your car, and will significantly extend the life of said carpet.  This is one of the fun little things that doesn’t cost a fortune but not only helps your car, it makes it look and feel nicer inside.  Car mats can be purchased anywhere, if you want the plain old boring ones that can be found all over, but the really cool ones can be found online.

Tool kits are so much fun to shop for, either for me myself or for the men in my life.  I always need tools, as I work with my hands, and my husband isn’t allowed to touch my tools so he needs his own as well.  There are too many cool companies out there with every gismo and gadget to play with under the sun, and I have a ball just picking through the different great things with my husband online.

Digital cameras are fun to shop for, and they are what you will make the lasting memories of your family with that will last for decades.  Buying by way of the internet is a great idea for a camera because you have instant access to all the greatest reviews, and no one is going to lie about how cool or how lousy a camera is.  I have really come to trust these resources and have never had a bad buy happen when doing my research this way.

Computer supplies can be complicated and hard to find if you are in town, and not all of us live super close to a Fry’s Warehouse, so my answer is to get on my computer (provided it is still working) and find the things I need to get the job done at home.  I don’t want to have some twit diagnosing my computer problems while I am trying to buy parts in the store, so buying online is a great way to avoid all that headache and mess, patience is not my greatest virtue even in the shopping world.

DVD players are a magic device to me, I thought VHS tapes were cool back in the day so when I get a chance to go shopping for a new DVD player I tend to get all excited.  There are so many features to explore and brands to look at, you can get lost fishing through all the cool players out there.  I enjoy a simpler device in the end though, one that holds one DVD at a time because much more than that to me is just something else to go wrong.

Video games are so much fun to shop for, and just as much fun to play.  I have been addicted to video games since the first Nintendo, and man those kids don’t know they have got it so good!  Seriously, video games are some of my favorite things to shop for and you really should be doing the research on which ones are in your home in the first place.  Just put it this way, there are video games out there that my husband wouldn’t find age appropriate for him, so have a quick peek online and see what your family is absorbing into their little minds before it walks through your door.

Crafts and craft items are usually such a great deal online, and every woman in the world loves buying herself things like this to do when she has a little downtime.  Downtime for me is usually shopping time, but even I cut loose and crochet every now and again and shopping for the stuff to work with is half the fun.

Halloween is just so much fun to shop for, where ever you are shopping.  I love everything about Halloween, the kids who adore the holiday, the candy, the costumes, making and sewing different projects. You name it the whole holiday is just a blast.  You come to my house and the whole thing is just decked out as soon as pumpkins are ready to carve, and I can be found (when I am not shopping of course) baking seeds and stuffing myself with sweets.

Easter is another big fun holiday to shop for, because the kids just love the Easter baskets and the special meaning of the holiday.  Getting everything online is just so nice because instead of running everywhere like a maniac two days before Easter, I have everything arrive conveniently to my door and it is ready to go before the kids are even asleep that Saturday night.
