Versatile Cargo Pants Go Anywhere

Go to any construction site or military base and you’ll see them. Cargo pants were inspired by military uniform pants and they’ve caught on in a gigantic way. Why? Because they’re a great idea that works well for men, and works hard across a wide variety of applications.

Cargo pants, like the military uniform are semi loose fitting, have huge side of the leg expanding “cargo pockets” often reinforced in the knees and seat and boast other details depending on the manufacturer and the model.

Adjustable waist tabs, an integrated web belt or back elastic waist band work well for outdoor recreation styles. Some are available in super heavy fabrics which defy tearing and are thorn resistant, with reinforced layers in all the right places.

All nylon with zip off legs, zippered pockets and mesh, water draining pockets are ideal if you’re going to take them where it’s real wet and hot.

For those who’ll take them to the other extreme, there are great cargo pants with rhino tough wind and water proof outer shells, zippered lower legs for boots and 150 gram fleece lining to keep you toasty warm. These are perfect for skiing, winter treking or any snow activity. They’ll swallow ski goggles, a hat, face mask and avalanche beacon with plenty of room for other necessities and optionals anyone may want while up on the hill.

Of course, we shouldn’t overlook the other styles of casual pants we ware everyday. Blue jeans, work pants, khakis and chinos are all available now in cargo pant models. While the nylon zip leg cargo shorts or the subfreezing polar cargo pants may not quite work for that university seminar group, cargo khakis may be just the ticket.

Now a great idea is as close as your home computer. In virtually any style and for any weather condition or use you can think of, there are cargo pants to fill the bill. Well, perhaps if you have to match that sports coat, you might be on your own. But you just don’t know what those designers may be working on.

As far as casual slacks are concerned, the versatility of the cargo pant makes them a great choice for a gentleman’s clothing.
