Stainless Steel Trash Can For the Kitchen Best Choice

If you want to know why stainless steel trash cans for the kitchen are a great purchase choice, you must first look at their competition.

What are the waste can alternatives for a cooking area?

Wooden trash bins are not only expensive, they are difficult to sanitize unless they have an inner plastic bin that can be removed and washed separately.

Even then, the exterior of your bin will absorb odors and stray liquids, such as beverages and blood from uncooked meat. Eventually, ‘disgusting’ will be an understatement. In summary, garbage rots; garbage cans should not.

Stainless steel trash cans are easily sanitized, incapable of absorbing anything and they won’t be rendered useless if you accidentally get them wet too often.

Plastic trash containers are much more popular than wood. They can’t absorb odors or liquids and they can be sanitized. Unfortunately, these cans usually collect holes, dents, scratches and unsightly streaks in the plastic quite quickly. The stupid plastic top on a plastic kitchen container keeps coming off to the point of annoyance (I know this!  LOL!). And without a plastic top on the waste can made of plastic, dogs, cats, kids, and toddlers will be diving in there.

Plastic also lacks of the heft of stainless steel, so the pet dogs and children can – and often do – knock them over, even when they’re not empty. So when everything is said and done, you might end up replacing this can every 6-12 months.  It’s time to wander away from plastic- this flimsy and temporary option of a trash can.

Let’s talk about stainelss steel. It’s, uh, steel!  *grin* Stainless steel products are substantial. Stainless steel fabrication is a serious matter of precision and sturdy manufacturing. Metal is metal- it’s not going to decompose or break.  Hard to lose a steel trash bin!

In general, it seems like stainless steel trash cans last years longer and perform better, but can they match your kitchen’s decor? The answer is yes – most definitely yes!

Aesthetically, this type of trash container can coordinate very nicely with your kitchen decor.  The stainless steel of the kitchen trash can will look very nice along with your current (or future!) stainless steel cookware pots and pans.

In addition to having a stainless container for trash, they are also gorgeous and practical as recycling containers.  The recycle area never looked so good.  :-)

Many even argue that stainless is more stylish and modern than either wood or plastic. Some models have a very futuristic appearance, and they’re always sleek and shiny, even after weeks of neglect. The fact is, you can place a stainless steel trash can in almost any room without ruining the room’s decor.

In addition to being attractive in just about any room, they can be purchased with features uncommon on other types of trash cans. Covered stainless steel trash cans are convenient and sanitary, and may prevent small children or large dogs from rummaging in the garbage. I know I perseverate on that, but if you’ve been the one picking up coffee grounds or egg shells all over the kitchen floor, you’d focus on this too.  LOL!!

Often, these types of trash cans include a band of rubber along the cover which traps unpleasant odors inside. Peddles, another feature, enable you to throw things away when both hands are full or you simply want to keep them clean and germ-free.

Stainless steel trash cans come in a variety of sizes, shapes and colors, so finding the perfect one for your kitchen, bathroom or even backyard won’t be a challenge.

The prices vary, but it’s a good investment in something that will last for decades to come, requires minimum care and won’t go out of style. As pieces of kitchen equipment go, this is not the most expensive, but it could be one that you appreciate tremendously. What are you waiting for? Make a smart purchase today. And I predict you’ll be appreciating and enjoying the virtues of stainless steel very soon.  :-)
