Shaved Ice Machine – Make Cool Treats

A shaved ice machine isn’t just for the hottest day in summer.  Making shave ice can be a refreshing break any time of the year.

When we talk about ice delights it’s easy to instantly think snow cones. Well, guess what?  There is much more to these machines than just snow cones.  Once you get one you will wonder how you did without one all this time.

There is quite a difference between crushed ice and shaved ice.  There are no lumps, very smooth texture like fresh fallen snow.  And although it melts faster than crushed ice, oh the different things you can do with it!  Another thing you would thing about shaved ice is margaritas.  Yes, those too can be made tastier with shaved ice than crushed, and even without any alcohol.

Now let us look at the different things that you will want to do with your new shaved ice machine.  Do you have someone who is not feeling well?  Shave some ice and put a little orange juice on it and let them eat it to cool down and get vitamin C .   Or put some ginger ale on it to calm down an upset tummy.

Having a cookout and having cold salads?  Whatever you are cooking, make a dish full of shaved ice to set the cold things in to keep them cooler.  Oh yes, you can do that with regular ice, but this will take on the shape of the container you are sitting it in, pack down and not spill out all over the place.

Shave some ice and add yogurt and flavoring to make a lo-cal treat in place of a smoothie or milkshake.

Like frozen coffees but not the price you pay, make your own quickly and very cost effectively.

Freeze juices and shave for drinks or punches.

Use the shaved ice to make colored drinks for the kids (or adults) using your regular drinks in clear glasses.

The presentation of the simplest dishes can make them so much more appetizing.  Even using it for your own lunch or dinner, putting your plate on some shaved ice that made itself while you are making your food.  Such a treat for yourself.
