Rival Crockpots Hassle-Free Slow Cooking
I know, I know, I am always raving about the virtues of slow cookers. If *you* are noticing this already, imagine how my local friends feel when they get to listen to me go on about crocks every single day. Oh well. That’s just how good they are.
Any kitchen gadget that offers easy use and simple use is a friend of mine forever.
Need to cook some pot roast but can’t sit around watching it all day? Admit it—watching your food cook is almost as enjoyable as watching paint dry. We’d rather not do it, but if no one is watching over the cooking, there might be some accidents to deal with. This is why slow cookers have been invented—and this is something a person who is too busy to run around in the kitchen should definitely have. Prepare a meal in the morning and throw it in the crockpot, then come home in the evening with a ready-made meal. What could be better than that?
Crockpots, as slow cookers are known in the USA, are a favorite during potluck dinners. They can keep the food warm for a long time. Food ranging from pea soup to roast beef can be cooked in a crockpot. A Rival crockpot usually consists of a cooking pot, which contains an electric heating element, and a transparent lid. Crockpots come in different temperature settings; a low setting will heat food to 170°F or 77°C while a high setting will heat it to 190-200°F or 88-93°C. Most crockpot cookbooks will specify the desired temperature setting in their instructions, so you don’t have to worry about it too much.
Since this tool is considered by many to be extremely essential in the kitchen, you’ll have to think carefully about what sort of crockpot you should buy. They come in many different sizes, ranging from 2 ½ quarts to 6 quarts. Keep in mind how many people you intend to feed with your crockpot so you don’t buy something too big or too small.
There are also two kinds of crock cookers—the manual one and the programmable one. Manual slow cookers are cheap and great to use—the only problem is that you have to turn it off manually when you know the food is cooked, since it does not offer a “keep warm” setting. Programmable crockpots, on the other hand, allow you to input the time to cook your food and temperature you want it to be. Once the food is cooked, a Rival crockpot will switch to a “keep warm” setting until it is manually switched off. That way, your food will stay warm until you finally decide it’s time to eat.
Once you get a Rival crockpot, cooking will never be the same again. Nothing is easier than having a slow cooker in the house, and without compromising the taste too! This is one kitchen appliance you definitely shouldn’t miss out on.
