Smart Buying of Newborn Baby Clothes
Newborns are neonates. This is roughly the first four weeks of life, when they need lots of TLC and care.
Babies are quite possibly the cutest things ever—and when you’re expecting one, you’ll need to acquire nearly everything for your baby.
Outfits are a great and practical baby baptism gift.
Whether you’re shopping for your own future baby or a pregnant friend, you’ll have to keep a few things in mind.
Since infant baby clothing nowadays are just as trendy and changing as teens fashion wear, you’ll want your baby to look good with a style that’s classic but eye-catching at the same time. As cute as some styles look—really, sometimes babies have better outfits than other kids—don’t buy something if you don’t think it’ll be fashionable three months later.
Some people like to be aware of the gender of the baby you’re buying it for! You can find out your baby’s gender by having a gender ultrasound five months into the pregnancy. Any earlier may not give you definitive results, as the baby is not yet fully formed by then. This, however, is not entirely necessary, since gender-neutral colors (yellow, beige, etc) are readily available, too.
If you do know the baby’s gender, it’s an easy task to buy newborn items with that individual child in mind.. Baby girls look great in dresses with the pastel pink and bright yellow colors. Be sure that the dress you bought is adjustable to help your baby breathe properly. As for boys, one-piece outfits, also called overalls or rompers—would be easy to wear for baby and easy to remove for you.
When choosing the clothes, you should keep some things in mind. First, don’t buy them rough or scratchy clothes—babies will cry when they’re uncomfortable. Check the backside of the clothing you’re buying if they’re uneven. If they are, they will probably cause discomfort to your baby, and are not worth the money.
Another thing is not to buy clothes which have too tight elastic bands, especially around the waist or on the arms. Not only will this cut your baby’s blood circulation, it will leave ugly red marks on your baby’s skin.
Also, look at the fabric material of the clothes you’re buying. Natural fabrics will always be the best, though they are likely more expensive than cotton or polyester.
Finally, when you’re buying those clothes, remember that babies grow very quickly, and if you buy too many in the same size, they’ll just end up outgrowing those newborn baby clothes you’ve bought. Try to buy in different sizes. After all, you’re never sure what size your baby it will be when he gets born.
There are plenty of infantwear items to choose from—caps, jackets, dresses, onesies, sleepwear, shoes and baby bodysuits. Choose whichever you feel will be good for your baby and the right amount of clothes for him. If you want a color-coordinated look, you can get outfits which match the baby blankets.
